Children with Special Educational Needs sometimes find it difficult to learn in mainstream classrooms. At Aspire High we help parents to apply for an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) while the child is in nursery. This will enable the parents to choose a school that will be suitable for the child's needs. Some parents wait until the child starts school before applying for an EHCP but this can often mean that the child starts school without adequate Special Educational Provision. This can lead to stress and anxiety for the child so it's best to start the process before they start school.
